crisscrossxx
writer, creative director
crisscrossxx is the intersection of words by Jenna Langbaum and images by Cat Raynor. The project features list poems with a hyperbolized romantic focus and watercolor images rooted in objects and parts of the body. Our hope is to capture a fragment of a moment, a crisp realization of human emotion - nostalgia, hatred, longing, shame, love, angst etc. Started by longtime childhood friends, the project also stands as an emblem our female friendship: the durable, magnetic, challenging, scintillating, force that binds us and inspires our art.
crisscrossxx currently exist primarily on instagram @crisscrossxx.
From our conception in January of 2017, we have grown our instagram following from 0 to 1700.
crisscrossxx was selected to be featured in a four day show entitled, becoming so young we crawled, at Chinatown Soup, a gallery in the lower east side of Manhattan. The show, in April of 2017, displayed over 30 prints which were displayed and sold.
